Joe Cahn, the self-proclaimed “commissioner of tailgating,” suggests celebrating in style with Wild American shrimp, a finger food that easily complements beer, wine and soft drinks.
Tailgating is one of my favorite activities, especially when I’m celebrating a great team win or just spending time with friends. One of my go-to recipes for this occasion is jumbo shrimp. Not only are they incredibly tasty, but they are also easy to make and serve. Plus, everyone loves them! Preparing the dish requires very little effort: all you need is some oil or butter and your favorite seasonings, like garlic powder or paprika. Then, fry the shrimp until crisp on both sides and voila – you have delicious jumbo shrimp ready to be served at your tailgate party!
Jumbo shrimp is an ideal tailgating food because it can easily feed a large group of people in no time at all.
Ingredients
Directions
Easily grill up more for how many ever people you are serving. If frozen thaw in fridge before starting.
Mix all ingredients except shrimp in shallow glass or plastic dish. Stir in shrimp. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Remove shrimp from marinade, reserving liquid. Thread 4 shrimp on each of six (8-inch) metal skewers. Grill over medium coals, turning once until pink, 2 minutes to 3 minutes on each side.
Conclusion
In a non-reactive saucepan, bring marinade to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until bell pepper is tender, about 5 minutes. Serve with shrimp.
