Creamy Bacon Carbonara Recipe

Ingredients:

-1 lb. bacon, diced

-1 lb. dry spaghetti

-1 cup chicken stock
-3 cloves garlic, minced

-1/2 cup heavy cream

-1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

-1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

-black pepper, to taste

-red pepper flakes, to taste

Instructions:

1. Begin by bringing a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook until al dente. Once the spaghetti is cooked, drain it in a colander and set aside.

2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until the bacon is crispy and the fat has rendered. Remove the bacon from the pan and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.

3. Turn the heat to medium-low and add the minced garlic to the bacon fat. Cook the garlic for 2-3 minutes, stirring often, until fragrant.

4. Add the chicken stock to the pan and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 5 minutes or until the stock has reduced slightly.

5. Add the heavy cream to the pan and stir to combine. Simmer for 3-4 minutes or until the cream has thickened slightly.

6. Turn the heat to low and add the Parmesan cheese, nutmeg, and black pepper. Stir to combine and then add the cooked spaghetti to the pan.

7. Gently toss the spaghetti with the sauce until evenly coated. Top with the bacon, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes.

8. Serve the Creamy Bacon Carbonara warm. Enjoy!
